I’ll be honest, the first time I noticed Pride cigars, it was only because they were on display right under the Liga Privada No. 9’s at my local store. Then I learned that they are a local Tampa company, backed by generations of Cuban craftsmen. Tampa has a very long history of great cigar crafters, with the Ybor City area originally built around the cigar industries of Cuban immigrants.
With the whole “support local” mindset I grabbed a Pride Corojo Torpedo and gave it a ride. Read more
Liga Privada No. 9 Belicoso Review

- Binder: Brazilian
- Filler: Honduran & Dominican
- Strength: Bold
- Size: 6 x 52
I’ve been dying to try this smoke. One Monday night after too long of a day I found myself at the Cave with about 4 asst. sticks I’ve been meaning to smoke but instead found myself drawn to the 15,000 cigar humidor anyways. After about 5 minutes of laps back and forth in the humidor, I kept coming back to the Liga Privada No. 9.
Something about this just ‘feels’ right in the hand. Like a warm gemstone this cigar has soul!
Glossary Word: Herf
A lively gathering of cigar-smoking comrades who meet in a restaurant, club, cigar store or home to share their appreciation of fine cigars.

The tip has a fresh hey smell while the foot has more of a cedar, woodsy smell.
The foot on this stick is not cut clean as per usual. Instead the wrapper leaves are folded over the filler and tamped flat. If there is a name for this style, please let me know in the comments.
Glossary Word: Cameroon
A wrapper leaf grown primarily in Cameroon, West Africa, preferred by cigar smokers for their delicately spicy taste, sweet aroma, excellent burning properties and similarity to native Cuban wrappers. Prime examples of Cameroon wrapper cigars are Partagas, Don Tomás Cameroon Collection, Arturo Fuente and La Aurora cigars.
Glossary Word: Foot
The foot is the end of the cigar you light. Most often it is pre-cut, except in the case of Perfectos and old Havana-style Torpedos.
