The JAVA line is a collaboration between Drew Estates’ Johnathon Drew & Rocky Patel. Very gently java flavored by exposing the whole leaves before rolling to the coffee as opposed to the more traditional ‘flavoring’ techniques such as infusion as in Drew Estates ACID line. This results in a smoke the is more traditional tasting and not “flavored” per se’.
I enjoyed this cigar during an evening at The Cigar Cave in Palm Harbor, FL, relaxing with Jonnys espresso, live music and an amazing belly dancer.
I found it to be mild to medium bodied and very smooth. Not quite as full bodied as I’m normally drawn to but it had a very rich taste that made up the difference. A nice tight stick with a nice draw.
The flavor is very natural. not like your usual ‘flavored’ cigar. Just a hint of the mere essence of java. Not like your typical flavored/infused where the flavoring can easily overpower the taste of the leaf. If someone was not to tell you this was a ‘flavored’ cigar, you’d likely never know, it’s that subtle.
Burned with a nice steady, even slow burn. not much attention needed to keep the fire lively.
The pressed square form may feel weird at first but the tip is rounded and you don’t even notice after the second or 3rd draw.
It even withstood the test of sitting unattended in an ashtray for some time whilst I tipped the bellydancer. Fire was just as lively when I returned. One thing I love about this stick is that it smokes clean and clear to the very end. it doesn’t seem to get as tarred/bitter/harsh toward the end.
I’ll file the Drew Estate JAVA Toro Maduro on my “Very Likely to smoke again soon” list

Nice review! Congrats on starting a cigar blog… welcome to the community
As Inspector said, welcome to the community! I like the layout of your site as well as the writing style you provide. I have never had the Java before but with a nice, solid write up like this I may be thinking twice about picking one up soon! Looking forward to more reviews!
