I’ve been dying to try this smoke. One Monday night after too long of a day I found myself at the Cave with about 4 asst. sticks I’ve been meaning to smoke but instead found myself drawn to the 15,000 cigar humidor anyways. After about 5 minutes of laps back and forth in the humidor, I kept coming back to the Liga Privada No. 9.
Something about this just ‘feels’ right in the hand. Like a warm gemstone this cigar has soul!
Band is snug but easily slid.
There was actually a little beginning bloom under the band which easily wiped off.
The foot had a nice fresh leaf smell with a bit of cedar.
a little squeeze to the torpedo tip and it cracked right in half. 2 more gentle squeezes and the entire tip had shattered and started to flake.
Not good. not the poor cigars fault but not good.
Of course an exchange was gladly made by Jonny at the cave.
That’s just always been my personal luck though. If there is 1 defected item out of 1 million, I’ll get the defect. Always been that way, not just with cigars. I guess misfits attract LOL
2nd stick. perfect. I could tell the difference right away just in the slight difference of oils on the wrapper. The construction of this stick is flawless.
Normally I prefer a punch cut but given the torpedo tip, I used a guillotine.
It was just last night I smoked the ACID atom maduro which is lightly infused and the Liga Privada brought me back to the basics. Excellent leaf, excellent craftsmanship, tradition and purity.
The dark ligera wrapper is very lightly veined but has beautiful color variations around the veining
Very smooth draw. Maybe a bit extra because I used the guillotine instead of a punch. I think I opened more than my normal amount at the tip. No matter, this thing is so delicious that I can’t get enough, like enjoying a fine steak.
It’s a truly intoxicating smoke. very relaxing.
Slight trace of the nicotine rush. It kind of sneaks up on you. Not overpowering, just a delightful tingle.
I had heard so much hype about this cigar it was hard to decipher fact from fad until finally spending some alone time with my first.
I taste old-world quality and tradition. From the leaf to the blend to the roll… there is care in this cigar and it shows.
Like I mentioned at first feel… it has soul.
Considering the very easy draw, this smoke has been very slow burning and has not gotten hot in the least.
Being a novice, I can’t fully explain why, but this is simply an amazing smoke.
Probably the best thing I’ve ever smoked in my experience. Including cigars that were double the price range.
Not an everyday smoke for my budget but very doable on those days… you know those days LOL
I would safely say this cigar fast-tracked into my Top 5.
Amazing, to me anyways, that this comes the same house the ACID line does. Apples and oranges.
I’ll add the Liga Privada No. 9 to my “Smoke whenever I can” list
